I started this painting by laying down a basic framework and compostion in black and white. The next day, Steve Allen worked alone for a few minutes. Then, we both worked simultaneously for no more than an hour. Later, I touched it up by blending, filling in gaps and adding highlights. The next day, after the paint dryed I worked vigorously over it again, destroying much of Steve's smilely faces. Stepping back, it almost looks like a DeKooning. Steve may have another go at it, stay tuned.
