Well, I did it…my first solo exhibition! Friends and family can no longer nag me and say “when are you gonna show your work Jonny?!”. Well guys, here ya go. Accomplishing this personally set goal, and doing it before I turn 30 (amusingly, exactly 1 day before) means so much to me. The day I landed this opportunity, my mind has been spinning, and my life is now a balancing act between my 9-5 job and setting up this show. One problem though; many of the paintings I proposed to the gallery owner weren’t finished yet, and two of the paintings were determined to be inappropriate (containing trace amounts of nudity) for the corporate office building setting. I knew the instant I walked out of that gallery meeting I would have to paint one more (4×4 ft) painting. With a deadline of only 3 weeks, and in order to fill the space properly, I began painting faster and harder than ever before.

There is still a lot to be done…new business cards, updates to my website, determine prices, and possibly produce some prints. But, I still have one final day to paint. With the installation date set at next Sunday, and the time required for oil paint to dry, this is it…so I’m gonna get to it now. However, I’ll soon post more images of the paintings that will be in the show (along with the ones that won’t) as well as a brief synopsis of the show’s theme.
